In particular, successfully getting a refund in a situation where it was typically not allowed has given me a lot of confidence.

A while ago, I had a double billing issue with my YouTube Premium subscription. Usually, in such cases, you'd expect to be told that a refund isn't possible due to the service terms and conditions. However, I remembered what I learned from 'The Art of Negotiation' and calmly contacted customer support.
The customer support representative sympathized with my situation and actively reviewed the policies to consider the possibility of a refund. I clearly explained the inconvenience I was experiencing and politely asked the representative to understand my position.
